Tickled pink

Thursday, November 8th, 2007. Filed under Toryglen.

Loose Boots, the local line dancers, tickled shoppers pink with their performances at the Asda Toryglen store recently.

In the month, £2,000 was raised for Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign. The annual Tickled Pink event, now in it’s 11th year, has raised over £16 million. This year, all 338 stores and 24 depots across Britain aim to raise £4 million.

Kevin McBride, Asda Toryglen Store Manager said, ‘We are tickled pink to be supporting breast cancer charities and giving people the opportunity to raise funds for a really worthwhile cause.’

The Toryglen store continued their fund-raising by encouraging seven local schools to bring in used clothes. This raised £1000 for Cash for Kids.

On Saturday 17 November, the two athletes the store sent to the Special Olympics in China, will cut Asda Toryglen’s 10th birthday cake. Gold medal sprinter Barry Ward and basketball player Ashley Ann Fleming will do the honours and customers there on the day will get a slice of the cake.
