Taxi levy for cash

Thursday, November 8th, 2007. Filed under - South Side.

Southside Radio Cars aim to raise Cash for Kids with a unique levy on owners Paul Macdonald and Hugh Mullaney.

‘For every job booked during the week from December 3, they will pay 15p,’ said Office manager Margaret McArthur. ‘Since we can book in 21,000 jobs a week, that will be a fair bit of Cash for Kids.’

In addition, a lucky dip of the jobs will win £100 for the taxi’s call centre person who booked it and the driver of the car as well as a 40inch flat screened tv for the customer. ‘This year, so far, we’ve raised more than £6000 for charity,’ said Margaret. ‘It raises morale among our staff and drivers and creates a good working atmosphere.’
