Primary Car boot sale
Thursday, November 8th, 2007. Filed under Gorbals.Blackfriars Primary School in Gorbals held their first ever car boot sale to raise funds and got such a good response they plan to do it again soon.
Said Karen Munday PTA organiser, ‘There has been a really, really good turnout and everyone seems very happy with the results.’
Parent Gail Burns added, ‘This is a great way to make money for yourself and the school. By helping at the car boot sale, my daughter Shannon now understands what it costs to have her room done up.’
Head teacher John Lawson has no car. ‘But I’ll bring my paste table next time!’ he quipped. ‘This has been a really great. A lot of parents have been able to chat and get to know each other better. It is good that children see the value of money for themselves. We’re always needing money for school trips – transport usually casts more than the tickets – so this event will help.’
