Research donation
Thursday, October 4th, 2007. Filed under - South Side.Cancer Research is £250 better off thanks to a client of Southside based Martin Aitken and Co, chartered accountants and business advisors.
The company asked its clients to recommend a charity it could support over the next 12 months.
Roy Whitson, co-director of East Kilbride based McDonald Homes, home builders suggested Cancer Research because his brother, who was also an accountant, died of cancer.
Martin Aiken took up that recommendation and gave £250 to the charity and a case of wine to Mr Whitson who has been a loyal customer for 15 years.
Mr Whitson said, ‘Almost every family in the land has been affected by cancer, so the charity is well worth supporting. It’s especially close to my heart as I lost my only brother, Gordon, to cancer at the age of 26.’
