Well-being begins here

Then try Yoga. ‘It’s for everyone,’ says Kay Henderson. ‘It doesn’t matter your level of fitness or your age and you don’t have to end up with your ankles behind your ears!’ Her classes start this month at Whitefield Road Community Hall, Ibrox and will help you de-stress, make your body more flexible, sleep more soundly and improve your well-being no end. Fully qualified to teach Yoga, Kay has been practicing it herself for 20 years. And, yes, she can put her ankles behind her ears!
Claire Crossan’s passion is teaching dance and she has a few places on Wednesday evenings at the classes in stage, rock n roll, tap, modern and cheerleading for those aged from 7 to 16.
‘I’ve got a really enthusiastic group who are very nice to teach and we can include a few more into the sessions,’ she said. They recently performed at the Mitchell Theatre but classes take place in the church hall of St Mary Immaculate’s in Shawhill Road off Pleasance Street, Shawlands.
For Irish dancers whose wellbeing would be enhanced if they could find a cobbler to repair their dance shoes, look no further than The Cobbler in Calder Street, Govanhill who has been specialising in this for years.
