Thursday, August 9th, 2007. Filed under - South Side.A new Internet Safety qualification is now available to school children, parents or elderly people.
The SQA Internet Safety Qualification was launched recently in conjunction with Strathclyde Police.
For the last 13 months they have been working to develop this unique training tool which is the only nationally recognised training course of its kind.
There is no traditional teaching and almost no paperwork involved. Instead learning is delivered by e-mail only.
No previous experience or knowledge of the internet is required.
The course will cover dealing with junk mail, identity theft, protecting systems against viruses, theft and grooming. There are two exams towards the end of the course.
Each module will cost no more than £10.00 and will be free to anyone who is unemployed.
The course is now available at schools, colleges and other centres as well as online via distance learning. For more information contact SQA on 0845 213 5472.
