Social services are closing their offices in the former Govan Town Hall this month, to move to new premises at Rowan Business Park, Teucharhill off Craigton Road.

The South West Glasgow Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) will be one of the first tenants in the modern building.

‘This gives us improved facilities for all the social work services being transferred,’ said a spokesperson. ‘It will provide a single, convenient centre for all public enquiries about health and social work services in the Govan area.’

The CHCP plans to build a £13.1 m community facility in Craigton Road starting later this year and opening in December 2009.
