Thursday, July 12th, 2007. Filed under - South Side. The reorganisation of Glasgow’s Local Development Companies to form five new Local Regeneration Agencies has now taken place.Â
The Boards and management teams of the new companies have now been established and for South West Glasgow; Glasgow South West Regeneration Agency (GSWRA) has been born.
Councillor Alistair Watson has been appointed as chair of the new agency, heading a board of 12 members representing the three member companies Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Community Planning Limited and Scottish Enterprise Glasgow.
Alison Sinclair, Chief Executive of GSWRA said, ‘Our new Board is made up of representatives from both Govan Initiative and Greater Pollok Development Company, as well as some new faces. We have already had a number of board meetings, from which it is clear that collectively we have the right skills and experience to take the company forward.’
As a company, over the next few months we will be updating our strategic plan, realigning our priorities with the changing external environment and setting our goals for the next three years. Inevitably there are some things which we are working on at present that will continue to be important, but there will be some new priorities too.’
One of GSWRA’s existing priorities is to maximise the job opportunities for local people at Silverburn, Glasgow’s newest shopping destination. Staff at GSWRA are keen to remind people of the opportunities available, and how to access them, for more information call 0800 022 3444, email silverburn.info@gswra.co.uk or visit www.silverburnjobs.com.
