    Clyde Marine’s Smart move

Friday, June 8th, 2007. Filed under - South Side.

Clyde Marine has smartened up their marketing efforts to promote merchant navy careers by investing in a Smart car branded to attract young people’s attention, offering fully sponsored HND, Degree and Postgraduate courses.

This was done as part of Clyde Marine’s major marketing campaign to attract new talent to the industry.

In a recent meeting with Dr. Stephen Ladyman MP, Minister of State for Transport, Clyde Marine highlighted a notable decrease in the availability of British Ratings which has caused problems for ship owners and recruitment agencies.

Clyde Marine’s Training Manager, Colin McMurray commented, ‘Clyde Marine is at the forefront of Merchant Navy Officer Recruitment and Training and have a full-time careers advisor who visits schools, career events and continually promotes the industry as a whole.’
Clyde Marine will be exhibiting at Workboat on 24 – 26 May in Glasgow’s SECC where they aim to enlist qualified seafarers for various job opportunities.

The Clyde Marine Smart car with its striking new make-over is equipped with a TV and ship simulator game for wannabe trainees to test out their navigational skills.
