Charity taxi networks
Friday, June 8th, 2007. Filed under - South Side.A successful private hire taxi network company has three high value items for auction in aid of charity.
The signed shirt worn by John Greig in the European Cup Winners’ Cup Final in 1972; the Celtic shirt worn by Neil Lennon and bought at a Jinky Johnston Motor Neuron Disease event and an Armani white leather jacket signed by Victoria Beckham and designed to mirror David Beckam’s number 23 shirt at Real Madrid.
Kenny McLeod, a partner of A.C.S. Private Hire on the Southside and Network Private Hire in the West End told the LOCAL NEWS, ‘In the last two years our business has doubled in size. We are a successful company and have bought these three items at different charity auctions. Now we aim to use them to raise funds for Yorkhill children’s hospital and one of the cancer charities. We haven’t decided how we’ll do that yet, but if anyone out there is interested in any of the three trophies we have, they’re welcome to contact me on 0141 557 4606.’
The company has installed a sophisticated voice recognition system at their Springburn call centre base. This allows a regular customer’s voice to be recognised automatically and given an instant response. Nearly one call in six received at the 24-hour call centre now logs on in this way. ‘We use modern technology because it saves staff time, improves the service to customers and generates more business,’ said Kenny, who is Secretary of the Private Hire Association.
