Women will celebrate
Monday, March 5th, 2007. Filed under - South Side. The lack of interest in International Women’s Day on Thursday March 8 is surprising in Glasgow which has a history of pioneering women.
Glasgow Women’s Library on the 2nd floor at 81 Parnie Street, in the city centre, is one of the few places where a programme is arranged. On Wednesday March 7, they will hold a Women’s Question Time at 7pm as part of their Active Citizenship programme. The event is likely to provide pre-election opportunities to find out what prospective women MSPs from all parties will be campaigning on.
They also have several working groups mapping the history of women who made Glasgow. This is volunteer work is on-going and is very inclusive. For more details of these programmes and of the Library’s activities see website: www.womenslibrary.org.uk or phone 0141 552 8345.
