Monday, March 5th, 2007. Filed under Giffnock.A Southsider working for the Royal Mail, has raised a staggering £90,000 for charity over the 32 years of his employment.
Mick Dwyer, 52, from Giffnock is the manager of Collections and Distribution at Glasgow Mail in Springburn. He has been nominated for the Royal Mail’s annual 1st Class People Award, 2007.
He was a driver for 17 years before becoming the depot manager.
Mick told the LOCAL NEWS, ‘All the money was raised for Radio Clyde’s Cash for Kids Appeal. I’m happy to have been nominated, but surprised.’
The 15 Scottish nominees battle it out in the final in London, on Monday 26 March.
