    Council elections

    At the last election for City councillors, voters made their X on the ballot paper for one person out of perhaps half a dozen from  different political parties. When the votes were counted the candidate with the most votes was duly elected. This was the ‘first past the post’ system. That councillor was then responsible for a Ward of around 6000 voters.

    Gorbals homes to be improved

    Farewell and adieu to the forum

    It was a sad day for the current and previous staff, members and residents as they said goodbye to the Castlemilk Community Forum.
    At a farewell party organised by Marion Osborne the previous manager of the Forum, 20 people attended to pay their respects and bid adieu to the staff.
