HQ move started
Monday, March 5th, 2007. Filed under Pacific Quay.Things are heating up at BBC Scotland’s new headquarters at Pacific Quay.
The furniture installation throughout the building started at the beginning of February and the interior finishes are being applied. The first members of staff are due to move into the building in April in a staged move from Queen Margaret Drive in Glasgow’s West End. Everyone is due in and the building should be fully operational by August.Â
BBC Scotland has selected a consortium led by Applecross Properties to redevelop the existing Queen Margaret Drive site. Applecross and BBC will jointly be submitting an application in the next few weeks for planning permission to redevelop the site. They have been consulting with the local community as part of the process.Â
The majority of the area is earmarked for a high quality new build residential development and subject to the necessary consents, the listed buildings will undergo sensitive conversion to a hotel development.
