Fair Deal, a voluntary organisation that provides support for people with learning disabilities held its AGM in the newly refurbished Trinity Church, Clarkston Road last month.

Guest speaker was MSP Jackie Baillie who talked about the abuse of disabled parking bays.

In another event held during Fairtrade Fortnight (26 Feb – 11 March) Marks & Spencer joined forces with Glasgow’s first Fairtrade School – Lourdes Secondary. The store provided a selection of items from their Fairtrade Group products – from T-shirts to tea and from coffee to chocolate – to be sold in the school’s tuck shop. The school also has a Justice & Peace group and out of those debates and discussions, the Fairtrade group grew.
