Gorbals Youth and Community Theatre is moving out of the St Francis Centre in Gorbals and will hold rehearsals and performances from now on in Queen’s Park Church Community Complex at 170 Queen’s Drive.

Said GYCT Director and founder Isobel Barrett, ‘It has been a wrench for everyone to leave the Gorbals. However, with no alternative accommodation being offered while there was uncertainty about the future of the St Francis Centre, the management committee had to secure other premises. The decision was taken with the young people very much in the mind. We are delighted that we will continue to work with the Gorbals young people and the youth from the Community Planning Partnership of East Pollokshields, Govanhill and Toryglen. We welcome all young people to our premises at Queen’s Park Church, Queen’s Drive every Wednesday for our production – a musical – in June.’
