Half the money raised by a Golf Open event held by the Initiative, Gorbals in the summer was ceremoniously handed over to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Carlton Place in September.

Initiative Chief Executive Candy Munro and Business Development Manager Bill Hay presented Staff Nurse Ashleigh Moody with the £4,500 cheque for the work done to care for terminally ill people. (see pic) The remainder of the £9000 raised, has been allocated to community groups in Greater Gorbals.

Said Hospice corporate Fundraiser Jo Parker-Morgan, ‘Events such as the Initiative’s Golf Day provide invaluable support to the Hospice. Without such help we would not be able to provide care and support to patients and their families. Our thanks go to all who organised and attended the event and we look forward, very much, to the next one.’
