Major changes are afoot at local development companies.

The recently rebranded EQUIP serving Greater Pollok and Govan Initiative are to merge. Representatives from both Boards are currently in negotiation. But by 1 April next year, it is anticipated the new company will start operating.

Said a spokesperson at EQUIP, ‘Clients can expect the same level of professionalism and support that they currently receive. There is a lot to be discussed and fine legal details need to be put in place to create a new company.’

A chief executive is likely to be appointed soon and given the support of the merger board to carry out the task.
At Govan Initiative a spokesman added, ‘This is a huge event for both Govan Initiative and Equip. As soon as we are in a position to make a comment the LOCAL NEWS will be the first to know.’
