Martial arts students from Castlemilk travelled to Inverclyde Sports Centre in Largs to take part in the annual Junior National Weekend Martial Arts Course.

The 14 students sat tests on a variety of techniques, including grappling, sparring, takedowns and sweeps. The course Black Belt instructors picked Danielle Rae (10) and Nazik Abdullah (6) for outstanding achievement awards.

Said Club leader, Paul Hanlon, ‘I’m proud of them. They all worked hard and did brilliantly. It was a full weekend and the kids were absolutely knackered by the end of it!’
