Dogs from all over the UK were in Pollok Park to compete in the Govan and District Dog Training Club’s Championship Obedience show.

Over 370 prize pooches paraded in front of judges for cash prizes.

The winning dog was Sharon Dunston’s working sheepdog, Pipian Rustic Ross and the winning bitch was Kathy Ingham’s Ruthkath Port Onit Image, a border collie. The two winners will compete in Crufts in March 2007.

The Govan and District Dog Training Club meets every Wednesday at 7.30 in Drumoyne’s Invercraig Hall in Shieldhall Road. Further information is available from club President Nancy McLaren on 0141 445 4458.
