E-fit robbers sought
Thursday, October 12th, 2006. Filed under Thornliebank.Giffnock CID are appealing for information after two teenagers were robbed in what police called a ‘harrowing experience’ near Woodfarm Secondary School in Thornliebank.
Police have issued an ‘e-fit’ picture of a man they wish to talk to. Detective Sergeant Cats Sutherland, of Giffnock CID, said, ‘We are issuing this e-fit as we are keen to talk to anyone who may recognise the men or who may have witnessed the incident.’
The 14 and 16-year-old boys were waiting at a bus stop in Robslee Road, around 9.15pm on Monday September 11, when two men got out of a silver Citroen Picasso and threatened the teenagers. One of the men assaulted the 16-year-old boy and the men robbed the teenagers before driving off along Westfield Road.
The teenagers were treated for minor injuries at the Victoria Infirmary and both were left badly shaken as a result of their ordeal.
DS Sutherland added, ‘This was a harrowing experience for the victims and I would appeal to anyone with any information on this crime to come forward. I would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who may have seen two men acting suspiciously, or indeed anyone who may have information to phone Giffnock CID on 0141 532 5700.’
The suspects are described as two white males, aged 30-35 and wearing fluorescent vests. One man was bald and the other had short dark brown hair and a stocky build.
