Andrew Ramsay abduction
Thursday, September 14th, 2006. Filed under Cardonald.MORE THAN seven months after the abduction of Cardonald man Andrew Ramsay, right, Police are appealing for help in tracing vehicles they believe could be linked with his disappearance.
They are now trying to trace the owners or drivers of two vehicles seen in Paisley Road West on the night of Andrew’s abduction. They want to talk to the owner or driver of a dark coloured Honda Accord seen travelling on Paisley Road West at Hillington Road South, and also the owner or driver of a white double-glazing van parked outside ‘Chillis’ on Paisley Road West. Police believe that it is possible the occupants of the van could have seen something vital to the enquiry.
There have been no confirmed sightings of Andrew since his abduction on February 22 from the busy Berryknowes Road area. Two men claiming to be police officers bundled him into a car and drove off.
Detective Superintendent Willie Prendergast has led the investigation from the start.
‘This has been a very frustrating enquiry’, he said, ‘as every avenue we have pursued has met with a negative result. It is as if Andrew has vanished into thin air, no one saw anything, nor has anyone seen him since. I am determined to find out what happened to Andrew on the night in question and it remains my hope that I can return him to his family safe and well.’
DS Prendergast added, ‘The incident room remains manned at Helen Street Police Office on 0141 532 5415. If any person has reservations about phoning the police, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.’
