Filed under - South Side, Govan. There will soon be more help at hand for busy parents and their children, with the announcement that Govan Initiative will be opening a new after-school service in the area on Monday August August 21. Pamela Freed, Centre Manager of Govan Initiative’s Nethan Street after-school facility, will be supervising the new service.
The new service will be dedicated to Primary 7, and 1st and 2nd year pupils.’ said Pamela. ‘It was developed in response to an identified need brought to our attention by parents, providers and from the South West Childcare Audit.’
The after-school will be located in the newly-renovated Elderpark Centre and will offer a wide variety of activities especially aimed at this age group.
‘The new service builds on Govan Initiative’s existing nursery and after-school provision,’ said Pamela. ‘It’s all about giving parents and guardians peace of mind while they are working or training by providing a safe and stimulating environment where their children will be looked after.’
