Residents in Gorbals and Govan are fighting plans to open new betting shops. They claim planning applications were granted against their will.

In Gorbals, local people are opposing bookmaker Tote’s plans to open a new shop in Crown Street. The company already has betting shops in Norfolk Street and McNeil Street.

Govan residents are also up in arms over plans by Ladbrokes to open a new betting shop in Govan Cross shopping centre, around 200 yeards from their current premises on Govan Road.
